Heat is
usually transferred by radiation, conduction, or convection. In air
drying wood, some heat is provided by direct radiation from the sun
but the major heat source is by convection of the surrounding air. In
conventional kiln drying, heat is transferred to the wood by forced
convection by means of a fan system. |
